Chris Pearcey – Founder & CEO

 Chris brings over a decade of experience leading product and engineering at Nike and Amazon Web Services. He’s a visionary builder with deep expertise in data, UX, and scalable infrastructure. Now, he’s channeling that into solving one of the most relatable problems in modern life: what to watch next.

 Lisa has almost a decade of sales and marketing experience and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Santa Clara University. She is an effective leader with a passion for the entertainment space, driven by the power of stories, and invigorated by change.

Tace Bechtel - Founding Member and VP of Engineering

 Tace is an experienced software developer with a broad background across various technologies, frameworks, and programming languages. They have a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Portland State University.  They care deeply about using technology to help people, and built an application for Multnomah County, Oregon that is used by hundreds of case workers every day and directly benefits anyone who is a victim of a crime in the county.

Nathan Early - Founding Member and VP of Data Curation

 Nathan's experience with narrative media and gaming stretch back to his college days where he was an English Literature major with a film minor.  From there, he attended the New York Film Academy at Los Angeles on the backlot of Universal Studios.  After moving to Portland in 2010, he became the sales / marketing manager for a large retail game store.  Continuing his passion for books, movies, television shows, and board games, Nathan is focused on building the best possible data base for Decisio users.

decisio uses movie and TV show data from TMDB (The Movie Database). We are grateful for their comprehensive API that powers our recommendation engine.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Data We Collect

  • Basic account information: When users create an account, we only collect an email address and, optionally, a first and last name.
  • Voluntary demographic data: Users may choose to share demographic details (such as age range or region) to help improve the accuracy and fairness of our recommendation models. This information is always optional.

How We Use This Data

  • Account creation and login: Email and name are used solely to create accounts, personalize the experience, and support login or password recovery.
  • Improving recommendations: Voluntary demographic data helps us refine our swipe‑based discovery model so it better reflects diverse tastes and avoids bias.
  • Aggregated insights only: Any data used for analytics or future commercial insights is aggregated at the demographic level and never tied to an individual.


How We Store Data

  • Secure cloud infrastructure: All user data is stored on Google Cloud Platform, using industry‑standard security practices for encryption, access control, and monitoring.
  • Minimal retention: We only store the information necessary to operate the app and improve recommendations.


What We Never Do

  • We do not sell personal data: Email addresses, names, and any identifying information are never sold or shared with third parties.
  • We do not track users across apps or websites: decisio does not participate in cross‑app tracking or behavioral advertising.
  • We do not store sensitive personal information: We avoid collecting anything beyond the minimum needed for account creation and optional model improvement.


Future Data Products

  • Swipe‑based entertainment insights: Any future data products will be based solely on aggregated swipe patterns (e.g., “users aged 25–34 tend to like X genre”).
  • PII‑safe by design: All insights are generated at the demographic level and engineered to ensure they can never be linked back to an individual user.


Our Commitment

  • Transparency: We clearly explain what we collect and why.
  • User control: Users can choose whether to share demographic data, and can update or delete their information at any time.
  • Privacy-first innovation: decisio’s mission is to help people discover entertainment—not to exploit personal data.
